A Safe Plan For Victims

Once a violent act takes place in a relationship, the violence almost always reoccurs. In fact it tends to become more severe and more frequent. Here are some tips to help a victim think ahead about what to do in case of another attack or what to take if you decide to leave the situation.

If you are in immediate physical danger call 911
Leave, if possible and go to a safe place. Family, friends, hospital, police or domestic abuse shelter
Keep an emergency kit in an old purse or container that can be easily and quickly grabbed when you leave. If should contain:
- House And Car Keys
- Social Security Cards
- Driver's License
- Birth, Marriage / Divorce Certificates
- School Records
- Immunization and Medical Records
- Money, Checkbook,
- Bank Books and Credit Cards

The First Tennessee Human Resource Agency
which is a non-profit, tax exempt organization.
Safe Passage serves Washington County, Tennessee and surrounding counties as a shelter for victims of Domestic Violence. The Shelter began operation in June 1996 and came under the FTHRA umbrella of services in 2006.
